Frequently Asked Questions
About the courses
What is the difference between the Quick Study and Comprehensive courses?+
The Quick Study course (~5 hours) is designed for fast-paced learning and covers the essential story, characters, and themes of Macbeth with over 3 hours of video content. The Comprehensive course (~12 hours) goes deeper into every scene with additional interactive activities, graphic organizers, and more detailed analysis. Both include modern English translations, audio playback, and a completion certificate. The Quick Study is $19.99 and the Comprehensive is $49.99.
Do I need any prior knowledge of Shakespeare to take these courses?+
No prior knowledge is required. The courses are designed to guide you through Macbeth from start to finish, with modern English translations and character interview videos that make every scene accessible regardless of your experience with Shakespeare.
What grade level are these courses designed for?+
The courses are designed for grades 7–12, but are equally well-suited for adult learners, homeschool students, and anyone who wants to engage with Shakespeare at their own pace.
How long do I have access to the course?+
You have one full year of access from the date of enrollment. That gives you plenty of time to work through the course at your own pace and revisit any lessons you want to review.
Can I try before I buy?+
Yes — both courses offer a free preview so you can explore select lessons before enrolling. Look for the "Try a free preview" button on each course page.
For teachers
Does completing the course count for professional development hours?+
Yes. All students who complete a course receive a certificate of completion. If you need a more formal PD-specific certificate for your school or district, we are happy to provide one — just contact us after completing the course.
Can I use this course in my classroom with students?+
The courses are designed to work both as standalone professional development for teachers and as a supplementary resource alongside in-class instruction. Each enrollment is for an individual learner. If you are interested in setting up access for a class or group of students, please contact us about group pricing.
Do you offer group or school pricing?+
Yes — we offer discounted pricing for departments, schools, and larger groups.

For homeschool families
Can my child work through this course independently?+
Yes — the courses are fully self-guided. Everything your student needs is built in, including video walkthroughs, modern translations, graphic organizers, and assessments. No teacher or outside materials are required.
Can I pay with ESA or EFA funds?+
Yes. For full details on how to use Education Savings Account or Education Flexibility Account funds to purchase a course, visit our
ESA/EFA FAQ page.
For independent learners
Do I need to read the play before starting?+
No — the course includes the full text of the play alongside modern English translations, so you can follow along without any prior reading. Many learners find the course is a great way to read the play for the first time.
Can I go at my own pace?+
Absolutely. There are no deadlines, no scheduled sessions, and no class to keep up with. You have one year of access and can work through the course on your own schedule, pausing and resuming whenever you like.
I'm not a student or a teacher — is this course for me?+
Definitely. Many of our learners are adults who want to finally make sense of Shakespeare, revisit a play they studied years ago, or simply explore great literature on their own terms. The courses are designed to be engaging and accessible for anyone, at any stage of life.
